We are very proud to announce that Lingo Jingo has won a Small Business Innovation Research grant from the Department of Education. Lingo Jingo is one of 12 recipients for the grant from over 250 submissions. This program is a two phase process where phase 1 provides the 12 recipients 150k in seed money to develop our prototype and test within our target market.
Phase 2, which will be limited to between 4 and 6 of the 12 phase 1 recipients will provide start up capital for longer term development. As part of the phase 2 process we are providing bi monthly reports to the US Department of Education where they then provide feedback on guidance on how to continue to build out the platform and position it in the market. We will submit our phase 2 grant proposal in December of this year, and we’ll find out if we win by March of 2015. We are excited!
The SBIR program is fantastic and really provides an amazing opportunity for those businesses that are dedicated to improving education technology in the United States.
